Went out, Raskolnikov slips into a tavern where he quenched his thirst with a cold beer and knows a drunk, Marmeladov, ruined by an official, who told him all his troubles and his family life and eventually becomes her home where it is terribly reprimanded by his wife, Katerina Ivanovna. The next day R. receives a letter from her mother announces that that will send the money soon and promises that their life is about to change, first told him that his sister Dunya (Dunecka) was the subject of threats by her husband of Marfa Petrovna, the lady in whose service as a governess, Mr. Svidrigailov , that Marfa Petrovna was then surprised her husband in suppliant attitude towards Dunja and that he understood the opposite of the truth and had been chased away Dunja, but then that Marfa Petrovna had changed my mind and had felt compelled to apologize and Dunja to go to all the families to tell the truth. But now life is about to change for them as they came forward, a serious contender for Dunja named Petr Petrovich Luzhin, who is now coming to Petersburg where he intends to open a lawyer's office, and his mother announces a meeting with his recommendation to accept good and do not judge too quickly and impulsively. The letter from the mother leaves

Comes out and sits on a bench and attends a meeting of a young girl of sixteen with an older man that he nicknamed Svidrigailov that the threat with a whip, to intervene, but Raskolnikov is interposed between them a policeman. Raskolnikov tries to tell the police that the poor girl is in the throes of an old man who is taking advantage of her, the police bother to send him home. Meanwhile, the other attends to everything. Raskolnikov suddenly afraid that the cop is taking him around and tells him to drop everything. The policeman looks at him surprised. Raskolnikov then moves to visit his friend Razumiskin, then has second thoughts and decides that it will come up after "it". He starts to go back to her room, but came to a meadow grass and leaves to go to sleep.
In sleep makes a weird dream in which a large wagon pulled by a horse is small, the coachman, Micholka wants to whip all parties and especially near the eyes and, seized with a fit of extreme cruelty, kills driver with the filly an iron bar.
He wakes up drenched in sweat. Passes near the Hay Market and hear the conversation of two street vendors, a husband and wife, Lisaveta Ivanovna, sister of the old usurer, and feels that he make arrangements to see each morning at seven o'clock. So randomly R. learns that the old woman the next day at seven in the evening will be alone in the house. And remember how he had come up with that thing, even after they had been the first time and had committed a usurer ring, had slipped into a restaurant and had met a student who spoke of Alena Ivanovna (the moneylender) with a young officer and said it was a person who did not deserve to live. Since then, a few weeks had made street in him the idea of the need to kill the old woman.
Go home, prepare a noose and sew it in the armpit of his coat to keep you well-hidden the hatchet, it prepares a fake pledge of wood with a layer of iron wire linked together with a double cross, wrapped in a white paper and bound so he could untie difficult, and the attorney agrees, having decided to use the ax for the crime, rejecting the idea of a knife, not being able to take the tools from the house, the room where he works Nastasya, unexpectedly because Nastasya is working the room, you feel lost and about to derail his plan to murder case, but sees a glimmer in the case of the goalkeeper, which is empty, and finds a hatchet between the logs and take quietly without anyone noticing it.
The murder of the old place with a very simple, only problems is that it is in being open, then everything goes as predicted, the old are curious to try to untie the pledge but is in trouble, as he had planned and then strikes wildly with the hatchet and kills. She begins to rummage, found a wallet, the watch he had committed, the objects, when he hears footsteps and finds himself in front Lisaveta, her sister died, unexpectedly, he returned home and found the door wide open; Raskolnikov does not hesitate and hits her with violence and killing herself, not a spear cry, terrified.
someone arrives, he closes in with a bolt from the inside, go on to call the concierge, the painters come running from the apartment, go back to those with the goalkeeper, R. exit from the apartment is two flights just in time and unable to hide in the apartment left empty and open by painters and then run into the street without being seen by anyone.
He can return to his home, replaces the hatchet in the gatehouse and part of the goalkeeper in his room, where he throws himself to sleep and wakes up at dawn and sees the blood stains at the bottom of the trousers that there were frayed ; cut the fringe around, takes her purse stolen from the old and the other objects and hides them temporarily in a corner of the room where the wallpaper was a little detached from the wall, and a point is broken, everything sticks in the hole in the wall. Then he notices that the linings of the pockets of his trousers and that the tip of his socks are dirty with blood, enters into a kind of despair when you realize you have not removed the noose from the armpit of her coat and starting to think that the punishment come with this confusion that captures unable to predict developments. Nastasya comes with the goalkeeper who gives him a notice of the police where he is asked to return. Raskolnikov wants to go there now feverish. In head to the office is taken by the urge to confess at once all the office
Raskolnikov is verbally assaulted police officer called Fuse, and he piqued reassuring answers offended but he realizes that they have called because its owner is in possession of a promissory note signed by him and the police officers involved in this bill and Nikodim Fomich Zametov and the call for a commitment of payment and is preparing to write while he passes out. Recovers and is released, but returned home with the nightmare of a search and pull out of the hole in the upholstery all items to discard and exit; first think of everything thrown in a river, but then thought that some objects would float and hide everything in a courtyard under a large stone. Then it ends by his friend Razumichin. These are the offers money for a translation from German into Russian, a job which he is working. In returning home R. is hit by a car and a slight back injury but what is striking is the fact that it is mistaken for a beggar by an old woman who puts a coin in his hand, which he then throws into the stream. In front of the river has some strange illness, then returned home falls prey to delusions and hallucinations and is treated by his friend with the young doctor Razumichin Zosimov. It receives money from his mother, as he had promised in the letter, thirty-five rubles, which is a fair amount. Meanwhile Razumichin took an interest in the matter of the bill and got it back at a bargain price and to tear to Raskolnikov. With some of the money
Razumichin buy good clothes for Raskolnikov. He continues to be very bad, not eating, is Zosimov and starts to chat with Razumichin on double murder and the clues as they go against one of the painters, Micholaj, which among other things, realizing he was suspected of being groped for suicide. Raskolnikov hears this conversation in his discomfort in his room.
Raskolnikov receives a visit from Petr Petrovich Luzhin, the new pretender to his sister, Dunya, welcomed him coldly, as he begins to chat with and Razumichin Zosimov, but at some point Raskolnikov verbally attacks him, seems to benefit from his delirium to offend Luzhin, who at first resents terribly, then was convinced by others that R. is seriously ill and who does not know what he says and what he does, but in the end Raskolnikov him away .. Its visitors come too and R. dresses quickly and goes out, puts in a restaurant where the paper asks and begins to furiously read what is written on the investigation on the crime when he meets the secretary of the local police station Zametov who had heard him by the police with Ilja Petrovich said Fuse .. Raskolnikov is seized by a desire to say everything and he says he was, but the other does not believe him and thought to be delirious, and R. does everything to suspicious but can not. On leaving the inn R. Razumichin that comes across is angry with him because he wanted to go to her launch party for his new accommodation, but R. Dry replied that wants to be alone and does not want to be helped;. Razumichin but insists the invitation. And then after the split was especially worried that drowning and tries to chase him but in vain, because R. has already disappeared in the city.
Raskolnikov goes to the parapet of the river and remains in concentration, staring at the sunset reflected in water, a woman comes up and throws himself into the river, is saved by a policeman who promptly throws himself into the river and gets rescued. And they cry out that the day before she had tried to hang himself. R. is increasingly in the throes of complete apathy. He wants to go to the police but goes over the front the house of the double murder and driven by an impulse he returns and we find two workers who are putting in place the apartment. Their questions pretending to be interested in renting the apartment. Then comes down and asks the doorman if it was at the police station and in the meantime drop workers who report my conversation with him. The goalkeeper gets angry with R. and throws it into the street.
the road has just been an accident. Marmeladov that R. had met in the tavern, came under a car and dying. Raskolnikov recognizes it and makes sure that it is called a doctor and is brought home to him. He reassured them that his wife, Katerina Ivanovna will take care of him, pay him. Witnessed a spat between Katerina Ivanovna and the hostess. Marmeladov asks a priest and died. On the death of Marmeladov appears Sonja, the daughter. Katerina Ivanovna began to curse his fate and it turns out that the consumption. Raskolnikov is to comfort her, gives her the twenty rubles he has, and leaves her leaving as a benefactor. Stairways meet again the police officer Nikodin Fomich. Polen'ka is chased by the youngest daughter of the deceased who asked him where he lives and what it's called. On leaving the house
R. is taken from a new and unexpected feeling of vitality that compares them to death is announced grace. He feels so much vitality that goes by his Razumichin his celebrations, but come in the house, you feel so weak again, saying that his friend had come to celebrate but do not stand up and be taken back by his friend. In return they find the stairs to his room is lit, do not understand, we are in the room waiting for her mother and sister of Raskolnikov who embrace it, he falls to the ground unconscious.
When you take down his mother and sister then please sub to go quiet in their housing, the two women are going off when R. Luzhin asks them if they saw, and tells them that just before he sent him to the devil, the sister Dunja offended, R. the states that is against this marriage, and asks the sister write a letter of refusal to Luzhin, his sister is more offended by these claims of his brother. Eventually the two women who convinces Razumichin R. is very ill, that she'd better leave him alone, accompanying himself at the hotel where they took shelter, defending his friend and even publicly sharing the bad impression which he received from Luzhin.
The day after her mother and sister are very worried by Raskolnikov but seems to be better, so says Dr. Zosimov, also looks better, and the mother tells R. that Martha Petrovna, the woman with whom he worked Dunja, died suddenly, it seems for the beating of Svidrigailov, perhaps due to a mysterious cause. At one point R. alters and becomes pale and a new feeling the terrible oppression that continue in a lie he will not be possible and could not talk more, nothing and nobody. Reacts and pushes you to remember the words with the young daughter of the landlady with whom he was engaged and that he died of tuberculosis. Insists on the marriage of Dunya, "or I, or Luzhin, if you're not newlyweds Luzine my sister" lively discussions with her sister, then at some point suddenly seems to give "those who want to marry." Raskolnikov realizes that Razumichin not hide his sympathies for Dunya.
After his mother and sister are gone, R. Razumichin come together along with the investigating magistrate Porfiry Petrovich which Razumichin entered into friendship and are accompanied by the secretary of the Commissioner Zametov. Raskolnikov says it intends to redeem the items that had pledged to kill the moneylender asks about how it should do in the interview and it turns out that the police was waiting for this since his name appeared in a notebook found usurer, that knew that R. was not well and was waiting, and R. you hear the police on him and began to conjecture that the suspects now converge on him, when the conversation ends up on the four theories about the crime and the investigating judge starts talking about a short article published in a periodical of Raskolnikov unbeknownst to the same, it is argued that in there in the world of people that are allowed to commit crimes. The men are divided into common men and common men. Raskolnikov explains that men are allowed by the so-called no common history to bypass certain obstacles and references to great scientists if they would be hampered in their research and to legislators, Lycurgus, the Solons, the Muhammad, Napoleon, who were of great criminals if only because a new law giving it an older destroyed simultaneously, and heats in trying to explain his theory, in which he speaks of law to the crime, until the new Jerusalem. And then he was asked if he believes the New Jerusalem, if you believe in God, if you believe in the resurrection of Lazarus, and always answers yes. The investigating judge him many questions, asks if there are many of these men are not common to the crime which would be lawful, and R. makes it clear that he thinks are very rare exceptions, and the investigating judge in the notes that he allowed to follow their conscience and bloodshed, whereupon R. replies that he has not written this Porfiry Petrovitch and insists that someone could mistakenly believe to be a part of the class and common people do not commit crimes of this, Zametov giggles, and eventually asks Porfiry R. if when he wrote the article did not feel in some way a common man and if he would feel able to kill and steal: R. replied that if it were not so sure he would say, is annoyed by the impudent question, but replied that he was never considered a Mahomet or a Napoleon. It explodes Zametov wondering if perhaps it was someone who believed a Napoleon to kill the two sisters. And R. asking whether they intend to question him officially, the magistrate said it was not considered necessary but a question asking if a trap had been in the apartment when he noticed the painters on the second floor, and reminiscent of Raskolnikov responds differently to the intervening His friend and rebels to these questions and the investigating judge apologizes. The two young men go away and the road Razumichin note that there is this strange suspicion that emerges against R. by the police, and increasingly convinced that the court was a rogue with all those questions and then Raskolnikov realizes that we are taking style in this game, but when I arrived at the hotel where his mother and sister R., these runs away saying he has to do and that will be soon. E R. went home because he made a habit of checking in the tapestry if by chance there was something left: can not find anything, calms and leaves, but the doorman stops him and tells him a man who is waiting for him. They get to walk together and R. asks him what he wants and what he says: "Murderess!" and then to protest R. Member states: "You are a murderess!" and then turn and goes his way. R. back slowly to his room and lies down and tries to figure out who is the man, half-awake and raving and feels strongly that he could not be a Napoleon, who wanted to climb over obstacles but managed only to kill. It falls asleep and dreams of being on the road, to meet with the stranger who draws him into the house of the crime, he climbs the stairs, enter the apartment and sees the old woman, who laughs and then hits her with a hatchet but that is still with laughter, he runs away from race but the hall is full of people, the doors of the stairs are all open and there are people on the stairs, people crowded, still pressing, he tries to run away but can not ..... looking for .... and wakes up screaming in terror. On the threshold of her room sees a stranger. full beard clear, almost white, which at one point slips into the room, closes the door behind him and sits on a chair beside the bed. He pretends to sleep and to wait patiently. Then at the end of R. asks him who he is and what is presented: it is Svidrigailov. (end of the first volume, the end of Part Three)
Svidrigailov conversation with R., tells him of his ghosts, he says that he deliberately tried to hurt and asked him to reconsider, in his presence his sister Dunya wants because he wants to apologize and give her the money. And takes his leave in coming encounters Razumichin who asks R. Who is that man. The two are staying in the hotel where his mother and sister of R. and in the corridor will intersect with Luzhin and enter the room together. Here Luzhin wants an apology and the claim but was kicked out for his arrogance by Dunja, mother and Raskolnikov, Luzhin, and to cease the relationship with Dunja. While in coming Luzine licks wounds and think about revenge, Dunya and her mother would like to thank R. understood to have suffered the tyranny of Luzhin and ask him what he said Svidrigailov, but do not accept in any way nor his money nor an apology. They Razumichin with a project to work together in the translation and publishing of books from German into Russian, but R. announces that he is now better do not see them for a while and goes perplexing.
Raskolnikov goes in search of Sonja, the daughter of first marriage Marmeladov, who is a prostitute to survive: In conversation with Sonja, he finds comfort and above all looking for the religious words to her, you read a passage from the Gospel, he learns that Sonja was a friend of Lisaveta, usurer he killed his sister, Sonja, and trusts that he knows who killed Lisaveta but will tell him the next day, giving her appointment the following day. In the next room, behind the wall Svidrigailov heard all that took a room right there for rent. The next day
R. go to the police office of Examining Magistrate Porfirj Petrovic and start a conversation with the intention of confessing, but things are different, Porfirj seems not to believe him and he insists, but then everything is reduced to a log of his folly, and R. is angry, thinking that the investigating judge you are making fun of him, and that says there's a little surprise for him when he is unexpectedly introduced Nicholaj, one of the two painters, in the presence of a crowd, he confesses that the 'author of the double murder. R. leaves you with Porfirj Petrovic and goes to refresh Marmeladov funeral and on the threshold of the house meets the same individual who had met and told him: "Murderess" who apologizes and tells him that he was convinced, he makes the furrier and the lab under the house of crime, and that he was convinced by his visit to the scene of the crime if he were the murderess, who had gone to so much talk Porfirj Petrovic shortly before, and when he arrived Raskolnikov, Porfirj put him behind a booth in the same room and told him to listen and be silent until he had arrived Nicholaj who had confessed, he was the little surprise that Porfiry Petrovitch had foretold.
Luzhin is dismayed by the fact that he was rejected by Dunja and think of a ruse. Marmeladov promises to the widow of an interest for them to have a pension and then sent for Sonya and he may be found in the room that is counting the money and gives Sonja gave rubles a ticket but without his knowledge put them in pocket a folded note of one hundred rubles. But all that is seen by the roommate of Luzhin, Lebeziatnikov. For Marmeladov refreshments funeral was held and attended by several people including the hostess and German Raskolnikov. During the refreshment Katerina Ivanovna enter into discussion with the hostess German. At one point he accuses Luzhin comes Sonja of stealing a hundred-thousand rubles, and Sonja is proclaimed innocent but Luzhin makes them turn pockets and a ticket out of pocket. Luzhin then accuses her of theft, but there comes Lebeziatnikov who accused him of having organized it, Luzhin, all this to humiliate Sonja. Then Raskolnikov realizes that Luzhin was trying to prove that Sonja was a thief because he himself had told him the day before the debate, that Sonja was a person one hundred times more worthy of him. Luzhin is unmasked. The reception ended with a terrible argument between the lady of the house and that Katerina Ivanovna is driven out of the house. Raskolnikov goes to Sonya and confesses that it was he himself who Lisaveta and kill the old moneylender. Sonja is shocked but feels pity for him, raves in the theory of the crime, who tries to justify himself to his eyes, Sonja asks him if he accepts his cross and makes a gift of his cross. From the next room heard all Svidrigailov. The interview is interrupted by Sonja Lebeziatnikov announcing that Katerina Ivanovna has gone mad. Sonja rushes to the rescue of the widow of father (she is the daughter of first marriage). Raskolnikov returns to his room and is visited by his sister Dunya who speaks and says to understand it, because it was persecuted by the police and the Razumichin explained everything. Then she leaves and he recommended his friend and Dunja Razumichin remains perplexed, because they seem to be leaving for an extended period.
Raskolnikov goes out and is reached from the street that says Lebaziatnikov Katerina Ivanovna brought children with them and is literally crazy. And together they saw the woman who is singing children and a crowd that had gathered. Here comes a policeman trying to quell the unrest, Katerina Ivanovna, he feels bad and it soon becomes clear that it is very serious. Is Sonja brought into the room where he died. On the death of Katerina Ivanovna is Svidrigailov who asks Raskolnikov to speak with him. It is committed to take care of the funeral of the woman and all children. With the money he had proposed to give the sister of Raskolnikov but was refused.
Raskolnikov returns to his room and receive the first visit Razumichin with whom she has an interview in which hopes to see clearly his love for his sister. Then, left Razumichin is to visit the investigating judge Porfirj Petrovic who begins a long conversation in which the trust was not at all convinced of the confession of Nicholaj and his question about who he thinks committed the double murder says, "But you killed you! " and protests of innocence of Raskolnikov's demonstrates his deep conviction, but has no plans to arrest him immediately, but want it to be himself and to confess with deep repentance for the reduction of sentences laid down, and tells him that his leave will wait a few more days, which is sure he will not run and will be in his office to confess. And the judge let the instructor.
Raskolnikov begins to search desperately Svidrigailov. It 'sure that you are not resigned from his sister and before all the precipitate is to be quiet for Dunya. She meets him in a restaurant near the Hay Market. Svidrigailov is very calm and almost happy of his visit, he began to tell all his life, but it is Raskolnikov coldly and then Svidrigailov says he knows everything because he has heard his confession to Sonya from the next room. It urged him to flee abroad. Raskolnikov is convinced that his fears are unfounded and without Svidrigailov Dunja, who instead has a meeting soon with their Dunja and the door to his room and tells her that he heard his brother confessed to him that he was Sonja author of the double murder. Dunja starts to leave but the door is locked and the key is missing, Dunja understand the intentions of Svidrigailov and pulls out a gun and grazed, but that will not let her go but after being convinced that he can never have it. And then let go; then goes to Sonja and gives the money as he had promised to Raskolnikov, telling her that if she will follow him to Siberia, and then starts to wander around the city and at the end Svidrigailov kills himself with a pistol shot. That same evening
Raskolnikov goes to see his mother and sister in the apartment where he Razumichin accommodated, in the same hotel senior house Bakaleev. Find the mother who is proud of him and of his article, Raskolnikov tells her he is leaving and his mother greets him and blesses him. The sister is not here. Dunja Later he goes into his room and Raskolnikov confides in her that he knew everything from Svidrigailov and greet, it is now believed to constitute .. Sonja goes to visit that invite him to get back into the hands of the Lord.
Raskolnikov goes to the police station, he meets Ilia Fuse, Petrovic said, you're deciding to confess, when someone notifies the officer that a certain Svidrigailov killed himself, he is leaving the office, redo the stairs to the officer comes back and makes full confession.
The novel ends with a brief epilogue that tells of the trial, the sentence to eight years of forced labor (taking into account extenuating circumstances as he said Porfirj Petrovic and other extenuating circumstances that he had discovered Razumichin) and recounts the life of forced Raskolnikov, Dunya's marriage with Razumichin, the death of Pulcherija Alexandrovna, the mother of Raskolnikov. Sonja, who followed Raskolnikov, on his visits to the prison he sees himself more and more gloomy, and report this to Dunja post. Raskolnikov came in a state of deep crisis because it fell prey to deep anxiety, which no longer has any sense of his life. It also regrets not try any repentance for his crime and not being able to kill himself, because the desire to live anyway, just to live, and has always prevailed in him. And envy his comrades in prison for their attachment to life. A dispute arises between Raskolnikov and his fellow inmates, who accuse her of being an atheist and not believe in God then Raskolnikov is embittered by attachment showing Sonja for all detainees, knowing that Sonja worked to make useful things for everyone. It begins a new story, the story of the rebirth of a man and his encounter with a new reality before completely unknown. The love story of Raskolnikov and Sonja, a new story which concludes
the novel.
TOPICS
The novel takes place on a research on crime and atonement in relation to crime.
The crime is the brainchild of magnitude, from an idea that was held by the protagonist in a paper for which there is a part of humanity which is also allowed the crime and he gives the example of the great leaders, Napoleon in particular.
The crime is thought that in a moment of theoretical research becomes an obsession that haunts the protagonist at some point no longer able to control himself than "that thing" and is planning the crime in detail, partly because his becomes at some point the search for the perfect crime, a crime against which it is impossible to trace the culprit.
After the crime is continuing this morbid attention to detail that the protagonist may have left, the tracks so you can look up to him and try in every way to divert suspicion from himself he feels from the beginning to converge on him .
At one point the protagonist feels the need to confide his secret to Sonia, the daughter of the late Marmeladov, and seems to have a benefit from this confession, but a benefit is short-lived, short-term, he feels the power of punishment that is coming down on him, the torment that haunts him until the end does not go to police and confessed his crime.
Following his trial and the confession of mitigating it should be substantial and the protagonist is sentenced to eight years' hard labor in Siberia. Sonia follows him to Siberia and the protagonist is a great comfort in the love of Sonia.
The theory of the crime is the dominant theme. The crime for the protagonist has been the subject of deep reflection that he has published in a newspaper. And the transition from theory to action from theory to practice is almost inevitable, in the novel is almost a necessary evil, encasing the protagonist, surrounds him, gives him no respite, is the evil that is embodied in the criminal act, Raskolnikov is haunted by the idea of that thing, it is DC voltage to it, and falls into a strange form of agitation, in a condition that is accurately described by the author, is a psychiatric condition without doubt, but it wears terribly and he is often feverish, lose their appetite and should to lie helplessly in bed.
This disease of the protagonist is another theme that is treated with thoroughness. His illness, his suffering is no doubt linked by the author to the crime and becomes a part of the punishment.
The punishment is the set of negative consequences that are part of the protagonist's life after the crime, disease and the inability to do anything, the suspect continued to fall in the trap, the obsessive search over possible suspects, and set in punishment, there are moments of progressive complete detachment from reality, inability to communicate anything of absolute closure to the outside world and with contempt for his life and that of others. The punishment is accompanied by the dark sensation of punishment, with the nagging feeling that nothing interests him more, that everything suddenly goes terribly indifferent. And throughout the novel the protagonist is developed in the emergence of this nagging feeling of indifference and with his constant struggle to prevent the suspects committed the crime to fall down on him. The terror suspects when he went to the police the day after the murder and realizes that instead he was summoned to the complaints of the landlady, who wants him to pay its debts with her. The terror that the police suspected him and I want to do a search in his room. Then the desire to end his life at the moment he begins to contemplate the river after a car hit him and caused a slight injury and a poor old woman gave him a coin of twenty kopecks because it looks more and more to a Jerk. And then the hallucinations, he wakes up and believes that the police inspector called Fuse, has beaten the landlady, and delirium.
Compared to its pathology is the development of a novel with all the care that Raskolnikov to reserve his friend Razumichin Zosimov with the young doctor who is making his first steps in approaching a psychiatric illness. The Zosimov care and friendship Razumichin, the kindness of Nastasya, only increase the torment of Raskolnikov. And the better the treatment, the greater its agonizing end to the outside world. And his delirium.
set to worsen the delirium 's anxiety to live together and the fear of not being able to live their lives normally, it is another issue Treaty. Raskolnikov is obsessed with the idea that "all this had to end .... otherwise he would not return home because he did not want to live like" desperate and out of the room, he stopped to listen to a busker accompanied by a girl who sings a Romance and all begging, then cruelly says just after laying a coin into the hand of the girl. Further on there is an alley full of women singing, happy people there, a woman asks him "Do not go, dear sir? "and he can be convinced to come and reflects the human condition, on the condition of a person sentenced to death if he were living on a rope on a rock in a space so narrow that we can only keep your feet, and all around there was the abyss, the ocean, an eternal darkness, eternal solitude, and an eternal storm, and had to live like this, standing in that square meter of space for the entire life, for eternity, it would be best to live this way than to die at once, just to live, live, live, live but to live in any way ...... and concludes his discussion with the statement that man is a coward but because of life and driven by the anxiety of living will submit to any torture. On the occasion of the death of
Marmeladov Raskolnikov seems out of his delirium and its torment and worries to rescue his wife Katerina Ivanovna and family. In this he goes temporarily from his delirium and not realize it, the fears and the ghosts go away temporarily, and he can live his life. When leaving the apartment where he died Marmeladov feels overwhelmed by a new feeling and irrepressible, with a sense of vitality, full and powerful that had suddenly flooded the heart, this feeling could be likened to that of a man condemned to death, which unexpectedly announce grace.
At this point in the novel is the confrontation between good and evil, the hero who has fallen prey to the evil that has taken him to the crime and all its consequences has a sudden ray of sunshine from the good it does. And in fighting evil with good, continue the novel.
His sense of wellbeing is that goes to Razumichin to celebrate. But once in the apartment where they are celebrating, feels that such weakness can only say that his friend the end has come for his celebrations, but do not stand up and have to leave so that the friend is convinced that it is advisable to accompany after talking to the young doctor Zosimov.
The idea of the madness that is proceeding is the idea that became the youngest doctor and is one of the topics covered. The folly of man and the fear of madness, attempts to fight against the madness, the strangeness of madness, his continuous alternating with periods of normality .. In the room
R. they are waiting for the mother and sister of R.. To see them amid cries of celebration R. Ends fainted. In recover announced its opposition to his sister at her wedding. The authority
male protagonist in his family is a theme that sticks in each other and that becomes extremely important because it intersects and intertwines with those of crime, punishment, disease and anxiety of life. The male authority will be to weave especially with the fear of his madness seems to progress, it is becoming difficult to thwart. The lies and shame than to lie at some point occupy Raskolnikov gave him a terrible feeling of not being able to speak, with no one and nothing else and they do get into a terrible conflict with that authority male that is assunto.Egli desperately trying to react to this feeling by inviting everyone to speak. And then you push the memory of his desire to marry the daughter of the landlady who later died. The lie and progress are the subject of a profound reflection on the need Razumichin sometimes lies. Lying is instead of the lifestyle that Luzhin tries to take advantage of the situation by masking its arrogance towards Dunja and then rejected by the same organization a sensational libel against Sonja to discredit itself in the eyes of Dunja.
the Atlantic at a crime scene, at one point the hero finds himself near the house where he committed the crime and feels an impulse overwhelming to come back so much that goes into the apartment was empty and there is a man pretending to be concerned and to the apartment. Andrej
Semenovic Lebeziatnikov the roommate radically socialist Luzhin, they named him the first time, as his young amico.Ma but then he shows his attempt to impeach him and then unmasks Sonja.
REFLECTIONS AND CONSIDERATIONS ON THE NOVEL AND SOCIAL RESEARCH GIURICHE
In the novel there are two aspects that deserve an evaluation from a legal standpoint, in deference to what must have been studying this effect of the writer.
The first is the theory of the crime as lawful conduct for some men. This theory is the origin of the double homicide and around which runs throughout the novel, based on the assumption that humanity is divided into two categories, on the one hand, the ordinary people who must comply with laws and some other common men, which, for purposes above, may be allowed to climb over some fences and for which the crime may eventually become lawful.
This account of the crime is linked at the bottom of the considerations of Machiavelli's The Prince and those of John Locke's use of force and law. Raskolnikov's reflections are not far from those of the legal theory and approach concepts in which the law becomes a hard object, such as nihilism, who was deeply touched Russia, so as to be the subject of another great novel by Dostoevsky , Demons, and a great novel before I. Turgenyev, Fathers and Sons, nihilism that has great influence in Russia in the end of the century along with socialism and communism.
Moreover, the theory of the crime is touched in the novel as well as a reflection or less equality of men and the thought of Fourier and Proudhom, two French writers of the economy who are the primary spokesman for the Socialists. This approach to socialism lies in the speeches of Razumichin the crime as a protest against the abnormality of the social order, as the result of an environment that corrodes.
In the novel legal theory, however, leads to the inevitable practical outlets, and the author wants to highlight how the theory or rather bad idea can not but have negative consequences if not, the effect of the theory is the double murder with all its consequences, is an inevitable effect, given the weakness of the protagonist who becomes a succubus of his obsessions.
A second aspect worthy of attention is the accurate description of the police investigation, and the wise reflections of the investigating judge that at one point pinning Raskolnikov despite the skill with which the murderer is defended refuge behind his illness, his delusions, and despite the cunning with which he, sure the excuse of his condition, goes to confess to the crime and then be accused of cruelty investigators. The subtle play that takes place between Raskolnikov and the investigators deserve a reflection on what the writer has dealt with the police investigation, the need for testing, thrust the confession of the perpetrator of the need to conceal the evidence of the subtle interplay between the perpetrator and the investigators. Investigations are becoming more and more accurate as the days go by the book, culminating in the visit of the investigating magistrate Porfiry Petrovich to Raskolnikov in which the investigator gives checkmate the author of the crimes, its pathology, to his friendship with Razumichin and all the confusion he was able to put those organs inquisitors.
Another reflection of extreme interest took place in the novel and is the reflection on the condition female, which is performed by Lebeziatnikov in his interview with Luzhin. Please note that the reflection on the status of women is also carried in The Demons and The Idiot. Crime and Punishment in the female condition of women in Russia in those years is put clearly in evidence in the authority of men, which also feels strongly against Raskolnikov's sister Dunya, but while in the rebellion that develops in Dunya, in the greatness that 'author gives almost all the female characters, especially Sonja becomes the female protagonist of the novel and will be able to search for R. ransom from his crime and his life in this endeavor.
However in the novel there is a Russian company that is crossed by enormous contradictions, which is strongly influenced by new ideas and ideologies which have their outlets in the Russian revolution, in which the woman is emerging in search of redemption from a position of subordination to the secular, in which poverty pushes people to lives sealed away from vice and weakness compared to the evil and madness, madness and evil that occupy some of the characters so much as to think of a demonic presence that will be developed to fund them, the Demons and will star in the future of Russian literature .
Against this, the misery, madness, or rather the evil that takes you to madness and destruction, there is the other aspect of society, there is beauty descriptions of music in the street, women who ciacole, meetings such as refreshments decent funeral desired by Katerina Ivanovna, the joke that begins with the quarrel between Katerina Ivanovna and her landlady, the size of Katerina Ivanovna he can rise again after great difficulty, the size of hurt and humiliated by Sonja that life can always find a way out of his religion, and that Raskolnikov is the salvation of his mission, which will force Razumichin's sister R. and trying desperately to release R. from the crowd, unaware of the crimes that he has already committed. In short, the novel demonstrates a mighty big continuous confrontation between good and evil that is often In addition to 'internal characters themselves.
Evil, the subject of many of Dostoevsky's novels is meticulously researched by the author, is represented in depraved behavior of some characters, is often portrayed as inevitable consequence of a bequest from a capture obsessive and demonic presence that takes hold of these characters and brings them to the most horrible consequences, and actions.
The good is the chance to get out of this state of awe and madness in which some characters are forced by evil.
